Update and 'progress' of LA westlake riot. It Appears LA has narrowly escaped having a 1992 -type widespread riot

This is a brief update on LA Westlake riots. Wednesday night Sept 8 they had the community meeting which was set up to allow the community to vent their spleen at LAPD. Afterwards when the meeting was finished and protests went outside there was about 1000+ protestors/ bystanders/onlookers lined up along 6th street & union ave., with heavy police presence. The mobs stood along that street waiting for something to incite them and trigger widespread rioting. That fuse was not lit and Wednesday night, Sept.8th may have marked the final day of 4-day tense tinderbox situation when LA came as close to a general widespread riot since the 1992 Rodney king riots(which i went thru). I may be wrong and demonstrations and attempts at starting riots may continue, but i think that the protests will wind down from here, though there may be a few smoldering embers here and there.

I had been following westlake protests very closely via KFI 640 talk radio and local TV.

Fires were burning on Union Avenue and 6th Street in Westlake on Tuesday night as crowds clashed with Los Angeles Police Department officers.
Hundreds of police, clad in helmets and wielding batons, had responded to the area. Officers formed skirmish lines as protesters scattered in alleys and streets adjacent to 6th Street. LAPD Officer Karen Rayner said a citywide tactical alert was declared, freeing up more officers to respond to the scene.
She said she had not received any reports on whether people had been arrested or injured.

Protesters were hurling bottles and other objects at officers, who declared an unlawful assembly about 9:30 p.m. The protesters had marched along 6th Street and past Union Avenue, where Manuel Jamines was shot Sunday by officers who say he lunged at them with a 6-inch switchblade and refused commands to drop the weapon.
Police had completely cordoned off 6th Street between Union Lane on the east and Alvarado Street near MacArthur Park on the west. At least two volleys of nonlethal foam projectiles were fired at demonstrators.

Comment- Am surprized at the duration of protests, which have gone into third day nonstop since the Sunday afternoon defensive shooting/killing of knifewelding, drunk immigrant laborer by LAPD, and it appears that protests are getting more violent. So far protests are localized to immediate area east of MacArthur Park, along 6th street to union avenue. This may be the closest chance of that much ballyhooed, repeatedly predicted LA riot since Rodney King in 1992

I picked up the case of the couple savagely beaten by 3-5 white thugs as they were exiting the SRLC convention in New Orleans. The diminutive lady half of couple,the LA Governor's head of campaign fundraising, had her leg broken in attack, and her boyfriend's face and head was badly beaten. This was no robbery attempt, and either it was a mindless beating by mindless French Quarter thugs, or perhaps it was politically motivated. If the latter then we just witnessed a savage vicious attack by radical leftist punks/anarchists against a prominent Republican couple. There is no hard evidence of this being a political beating(yet), and it appears the NOPD and city leaders may be putting a lid on this for (A) political reasons:(b)to cover up a blot on NO, or:(c)some high-placed democrat in NO city hierarchy is bottling this up.

The leftist, state-run MSM is keeping silent on this savage, possibly politically motivated beating, which is only being kept alive by conservative blogsites, twitter, and other social network sites. If a prominent Dem was savagely beaten it would be run all over the world on every TV cable news network,and we would have a DOJ civil rights investigation: ACLU, FBI, congress/state Dems would be all over it.

Why the left has a monopoly on political violence in USA

There appears to be more and more vicious attacks both verbally and physical intimidation against tea party and conservatives recently. The passage of the disastrous health care bill has stoke up real anger among tea party and conservatives and even a few instances of alleged taunts and even a few window smashings but nothing compared to the much more abundant acts of violence committed by the ultra leftists.

Problem is the MSM chooses to focus on the few acts of violence by the right, as 90% of MSM journalists are themselves leftist-thinking, though not necessarily radicals. Thus the alleged unproven story of the slinging of racial slurs by tea partyers in Wash DC rally, which has no basis in fact, has been rerun repeatedly by the leftist media spinmeisters, with likely approval and assistance from obama/dem plants and their media whores.

What the MSM ignores is the repeated and more abundant acts of violence by the radical left, such as SEIU goons attacking anti -immigrant & tea partye activists, throwing eggs at tea party buses in Nevada, smashing the office window of Eric Cantor,ect. And of course the amt of taunting and slurs committed by radical lefties against conservatives at rallies are legion and virtually ignored by MSM. Only recorded videos by conservative activists shown on you-tube are only way public finds out the real viciousness of the radical leftist goonies.

Unfortunately the radical leftists can call out far more vicious beasts to do the dirty work of harassing/intimidating conservative activists. 95% of former criminals
favor the Dems, as well as welfare, section 8'ers, demented homeless druggies, inner city gang toughs, rowdy SEIU laborer/thugs, juvenile delinquents, as well as most of the other lower uneducated elements of society. After all these are the dispossessed and property-less who favor radical redistribution of wealth, and will support the party(DEMS), which supposedly promises unlimited welfare and free goodies to the impoverished.

That is why there is far more vicious acts committed by the left than the right. The Ultra-Left/Dem side can unleash the outscourings of the ghettos, including vicious inner city predators, at conservative rallies.
